JUST WHEN I NEED HIM

Just when I need Him most, Jesus is near,
Just when I falter, just when I fear;
Ready to help me, ready to cheer,
Just when I need Him most.

Just when I need Him, Jesus is strong,
Bearing my burdens all the day long;
For all my sorrows giving a song,
Just when I need Him most.

THE HEARTBEAT OF HEAVEN

The Heartbeat of Heaven. . . .
Souls, Souls, Souls!

The Lord Comforts

I, even I, am he who comforts you
(Isaiah 51:12).

Several years ago, I experienced a trying time in my life and found great
consolation in the above Scripture and similar verses. I've found that regard-
less of what I'm going through, the Lord is present to comfort me.

Even in the unlikely book of Job, I found an assuring verse: "Now acquaint
yourself with Him, and be at peace; thereby good will come to you" (Job 22:21).
As we acquaint ourselves more and more with God, we find His grace and peace
to be more than sufficient. He can keep us strong regardless of what happens.
God is able to free us from hurts of our past and our present.

"When God's Word really becomes a part of your inner life, you have something
upon which to base your life," "No longer can fear beat you into the ground when
a problem arises. You have confidence because of God's Word."

The Lord wants to bring us to a place of knowing Him so well that we feel
His comfort and peace when there seems to be no reason for it. When we feel
weighted down by the anxieties of life, the Lord can lift us up and give us
unspeakable comfort. To give comfort is one of the Lord's wonderful ministries
to us.

Many things that happen to us are simply the result of living in this world.
We have a choice of allowing unpleasant happenings to make us bitter or better.
If Jesus lives in us, our old life is finished and our new life is complete
in Him. We can accept the comfort He offers.

GOD'S MERCY

There's a wideness in God's mercy,
Like the wildness of the sea;
There's a kindness in His justice,
Which is more than liberty.
If our love were but more simple,
We should take Him at His Word,
And our lives would be all sunshine
In the sweetness of our Lord.

GOD OUR COMPANION

When God is our Companion,
As we walk the road of life,
There is help for every problem
And grace for care and strife!
And we'll find that we've been happy
All along the path we've trod,
When in faith we've made the journey
Hand-in-hand along with God.

Soldier's Prayer

Hearts are heavy now, dear Lord
For WAR is looming there.
Our prayers are calling out to you,
Our thoughts too much to bear.
Be with our loved ones--THEY NEED YOU.
Guide them, lead them, see them through.
Bless our leaders, for we know,
He asks Your blessings, and needs them so.
Protect the innocent, shield their lives,
As bombs and missiles streak the skies.
Open our hearts and fill us with grace,
Guard our loved ones in that place.
This I say, in earnest prayer,
THANK YOU LORD
I know YOU'RE there.

Recipe For Happiness

2 Heaping cups of Patience

1 Heart full of Love

2 Hands full of Generosity

1 Head full of Understanding

and a Dash of Laughter

Sprinkle generously with Kindness, add plenty of Faith and mix well. Spread over a period
of a lifetime and serve to everyone you meet.

HUGS . . . PASS THEM ON

Hugs are warm
Hugs are nice
Hugs are ways to
break the ice.

If you send me a hug
You won't regret
I'll hug you back
A hug is just a way to say. . .
I love you in a special way,

When you shed a tender tear
A hug is sure to be near.
When you're trembling in fear
A hug will come from someone dear.
A new beginning to an endless day
A ray of hope to light your way.
Take a hug and pass it on
Don't save them up it can't be done.
Share them whenever you can.

God Bless America

God Bless America!
God Bless our Soldiers!

As Soldiers Sail Away

As our soldiers sail away Lord
To defend the USA
Surround them with Your angels
Please protect them everyday

They are so brave to go
And face the enemy
They stand up for what is right
And to keep our country free

Make each soldier strong Lord
And fill them with Your peace
Remind them that they are loved
And our prayers will never cease

Until they are home again
Safely in our arms
We thank you Lord for watching over them
And keeping them from harm.

Protected from the Storm

These words spoken to Joshua by the Lord are also for you and me. God's desire is that we be so
vitally united to Him that we know his presence and, whatever we face, we will not be terrified.
Regardless of how long we've known the Lord as Savior, we still face times when we want to ask,
"But Lord, what about this?"
We can be assued that every problem and situation is an opportunity for God to manifest His
power in our behalf. He wants us to look through the problem to Him. We need to train ourselves to look for His presence and power in every circumstance. David reminds us, "He who
dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty" (Psalm 91:1).
The comfort or discomfort of our inner life depends upon the dwelling place of our souls, just as the comfort or discomfort of our outward life depends largely upon the dwelling place of our bodies. For instance, I can stand inside my house and watch a rainstorm. It doesn't touch me; I am protected. I can also stand in my spiritual dwelling place and watch a storm in my life and remain unharmed.
We find our surety in Jesus, not in knowing about Him. Faith about Him is not sufficient to
carry us through times when we feel terrified of the circumstances around us. Only in His
presence and by His grace will we find strength to stand. Basking in His love, we find endurance
and courage.
When our situation seems hopeless, we can remember that nothing is impossible with God.
God knows our difficult times, he knows that. That's why He keeps reminding us of His
sufficiency. He really is with us.

Carbs that help you lose weight

I've heard that there's scientific proof that pasta might actually boost your weight loss efforts. (Yes, you are reading this right). That's because when you cook and cool certain starchy foods
like pasta, potatoes and rice, a substance called resistant starch forms. Resistant starch is also
naturally found in foods like bananas, lentils, beans and whole grains like oats. Your body can't digest it because it acts like fiber, so eating it helps you feel full; it also encourages your body to
burn stored fat before turning to carbohydrates for fuel. Get your fill with vegetarian chili, bean
salads, and cold potato, pasta and rice salads.

FELINE FRIENDS INSPIRATION

Work hard to be flexible in life, keep your day-to-day challenges from tying you up in knots.

Explore the outside world all you want, but remember when to come home.

Anything can be a toy, any moment an occasion to play, so give in to your high spirits and joy of
life.

Don't be afraid of the darkness. Let your eyes shine into the night. There is much to be gained
from stealth and silence.

The cat's meow. Make someone you know purr today. Wait eagerly for the night, make plans.

Take a catnip whenever you see a window of opportunity. Or just a window. You'll need some
rest for new adventures.

Something you really want, run! Leap! Pounce on it with all of your passion! Don't go hunting
half-heartedly after your quest.

While things may change around you, stay centered on the core of your being. That will get you
through t u m u l t u o u s times.

A cat sigh. Know when to be: reserved, inquisitive, flirtatious, indifferent, contemplative, independent, jubilant, cautious, practical. Climb up the drapes, enjoy the view.

Meow, Meow. :) :)

LAUGHING IS GOOD FOR YOU

Did you know that laughing is good for you. Crack yourself up. You'll be happier,
healthier, and actually live younger. I read about a study in which researchers
looked for words in a study that reflected a sense of humor. They found that those
who mentioned any number of humor words as "smile," "laugh," or "chuckle" in
their writings lived 6.5 years longer than those who didn't use any humor words.
So relax, enjoy life and learn to laugh, read joke books. Even if you don't live
longer, you'll enjoy life more.

PRAY FOR PEACE

My prayer for myself in the years to come is inner peace. My prayer for the whole world is just
peace. And that means peace in our homes. Peace in our communities. I want peace in families
so that everyone can stop and take a breath and figure out how to make things work.

Legend of the Dogwood

There is a legend, that at the time of the Crucifixion the
dogwood had been the size of the oak and other forest trees.
So firm and strong was the tree that it was chosen as the timber
for the cross. To be used thus for such a cruel purpose greatly
distressed the tree, and Jesus, nailed upon it, sensed this, and
in His gentle pity for all sorrow and suffering said to it:
"Because of your regret and pity for My suffering, never
again shall the dogwood tree grow large enough to be used as
a cross. Henceforth it shall be slender and bent and twisted
and its blossoms shall be in the form of a cross...two long and
two short petals. And in the center of the outer edge of each
petal there will be nail prints, brown with rust and stained with
red, and in the center of the flowers will be a crown of thorns
and all who see it will remember".

I love the legend of the dogwood tree and I wanted to post
it for all to see.
